The BIBLE yes that's the book for me. I stand upon the word of God the BIBLE. As a Christian this book is our guide, our way to live according to our Lord and Savior. We can't alter it or ignore it. We can't pick or chose what suits us. We can and must, however change from our old ways to our new life in Christ. Of course we are not perfect and we have to strive to be like Christ, that is why the BIBLE is so important. It all applies and that is the hard part, but if I don't try to live according to each verse each commandment then I am failing my Lord and Savior. HE never fails me. Announcing Discipleship Classes

Discipleship is vital! In an effort to continue our growth together, and in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are pleased to announce that New Beginnings will be offering Discipleship Classes (Sunday School) for Adults, Youth (High School), Pre School, and Middle Elementary ages on Sunday mornings beginning June 3. We will begin at 9:45 a.m. with 45 minutes of study, then come together for worship.  We are excited about what God is doing at New Beginnings. 

Victory In Christ

"My heart says of You, "Seek His face!" Your face, LORD, I will seek!" (Psalm 27:8)

Our struggle is not for the truth, nor it is because of the truth.  Our struggle is with the knowledge of the truth and that struggle is often rooted in our "will!"   We struggle when our heart is divided—wanting to please God, but at the same time seeking our own will. 

“Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established” (Proverbs 16:3 KJV). 

As we seek the Lord and commit our works [action, activity, conduct] to Him (cf. Ephesians 4:1; Colossians 1:10; 1 Thessalonians 2:12), He will establish our thoughts [plan, intention, purpose]. 

In this world, we will have trouble (cf. John 16:33), it is how we view the trouble that determines the outcome.  Jesus said, “be of good cheer.” 

Our victory is inextricably wrapped up in our relationship with God.  When we are living and walking in Him, our thoughts, plans, intentions, and purposes become less and less significant or important, and His thoughts, plans, intentions, and purposes become our highest priority!  (cf. 2 Corinthians 5:16-17).

"One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock” (Psalms 27:4-5 KJV).

Be VICTORIOUS!  Seek the Lord and walk and live in Christ!

We are very pleased and honored to announce that Dr. H. E. “Bubba” Cardin will be ministering at New Beginnings Family Outreach Ministries next Sunday, April 22. You will definitely be blessed by his ministry!

Dr. H. E. Cardin is the director of the Tomlinson Center.

History
Dr. Cardin was born on the Island of Saipan in the Marianas Islands. Being from a diverse religious background. Completing high school at the age of 16, he moved out during the family being divided over divorce.

Ministry History
The new life on his own led him to a local church where he became involved and began the ministry at the age of 17. At the age of 22, Dr. Cardin accepted the responsibility of coordinating state youth and camping ministry for the Church of God of Prophecy in the State of Georgia.
While serving as an itinerant minister he began a family by marrying his best friend, Kim and had two children, a son, Drew and a daughter, Aleighsa (A-Lee-Sa).
Dr. Cardin moved into an international ministry when he began working in International Youth Camp. Then led a team of 13 into the country of Thailand to conduct its first youth camp for the Church of God of Prophecy and had crusades in many cities. Later he served on the Asian International Youth Camp Staff and participated in the International Leadership Conference in Singapore, Malaysia.
In 1988 he entered into the pastoral ministry serving in Trion then in Macon, GA. After six years with a pastoral focus he then returned to the state level to coordinate local church ministries for the Churches of God of Prophecy in Georgia.
In 1994, Dr. Cardin was appointed the International Director of Youth, Children and Sunday School Ministries. July 1996, the appointment was International Director of Specialized Ministries (Local Church Ministries) which focused on Youth, Children's and Women's Ministries. Later, Men's Ministries was added.
Responsibilities while serving in Cleveland included serving as editor of Victory2,(a youth magazine), coordinating and directing youth conferences, youth camps, and training sessions.
Under this appointment he has conducted training sessions across the US and in the C.I.S. (formerly known as Russia), Greece, Cyprus, Germany, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Bulgaria, Montserrat and Africa. He has taught in the M.A.C.E.A. (Mid-Atlantic Christian Education Association), served as an Executive Board Member of the D.E.C.E (Denominational Executives for Christian Education). Dr. Cardin has served as secretary to the International Presbyter and various International Office committees.

Dr. Cardin has directed LDI (Leadership Development Institute). A non-terminal leadership training for various level of church-life using top leadership and scholars.
Education
Dr. Cardin received his Master's of Divinity (M.Div.), in 1993 at the Church of God School of Theology in Cleveland, TN. He had spent four years in an internship program at Charter Lake Psychiatric Hospital in Macon, GA, and Riverwoods Psychiatric Hospital, Riverdale, GA, as a chaplain. He completed his Doctor of Ministry degree (D.Min.) with the Church of God Theology Seminary, June 2005.

Teaching
Dr. Cardin teaches for Lee University (CAPS) in partnership with the Tomlinson Center. Teaching in the Spring (Bible) Introduction to the New Testament ( BIBL 102) and The Gospel of John ( BIBL 204). A Pastoral course, Introduction to Preaching 1 - (PASM 261). In the Fall, (Bible) The Synoptic Gospels ( BIBL 312), (Pastoral) The Ministry of Preaching 2 ( PASM 262). Non-accredited version of these and other courses are also taught throughout the globe on a regular basis.

Recent Appointments
At the 1998 General Assembly, he was appointed Overseer of Washington & Alaska and has moved to the State of Washington. In October of 2000, he was appointed as Overseer of Georgia. He has served as secretary in the North American Leadership Counsel as well as the Church College Board. In 2006, he was appointed Tomlinson Center Director and CBL (Center For Biblical Leadership) Faculty and just after the General Assembly was added to the BDP (Bible, Doctrine and Polity) Committee. In 2008, Dr. Cardin was appointed as the full time Tomlinson Center Director.

The REAL Life Changer

If I tell you that Bible study won’t change your life, would you think I was confused? Well I think that just because you know the Bible doesn't mean the word will bear fruit in your life. I think it is possible to read the Scriptures and study them and miss the point entirely. In John 5:39-40 Jesus talks about this
very thing.

"You search the Scriptures, because you think you will find eternal life in them. The Scriptures tell about me, but you refuse to come to me for eternal life"(John 5:39-40 CEV)

Jesus doesn't condemn us for knowledge of his word, but mourns that we may have missed the point. Even today it’s possible to get so wrapped up in searching the Scriptures that we miss what God is trying to teach us. Bible study alone is not what transforms your life. Jesus transforms your life.

Of course, He does this through His written Word to us. So we must affirm that life change doesn’t happen apart from God’s Word. The reason God’s Word changes our lives is not because of our personal study but because in the Scriptures we are introduced to Jesus, the Author. No More Excuses

Luke 14:16-24—“(16) Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: (17) And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. (18) And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. (19) And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. (20) And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. (21) So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. (22) And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. (23) And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. (24) For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.”

Do you find yourself making excuses for your lack of performance? It’s time to shed the excuses and face reality. Our trust (or lack of trust) in God is revealed, at least in part, by how we view circumstances and how we respond to His call.

God has called us to be light in a dark world. He has called us to win the lost and to disciple them according to His Word. Of course there will be obstacles, and the enemy will seek to sabotage our efforts at every turn.

An excuse is an explanation offered as a reason for being excused; a plea offered to justify a fault or for release from an obligation; a pretext for subterfuge.

We may have little, but when we refuse to make excuses, God turns little into much!

We may be opposed, but when we refuse to make excuses, we are victorious through Jesus Christ.

We may have other needs, but when we seek Him first, he supplies all our needs…and then some!

Let’s stop making excuses and trust the Lord!
